Laura Loyek recognized as a 2023 Leader in the Law by NC Lawyers Weekly

Lawyers Mutual NC Claims Attorney Laura Loyek has been selected as a North Carolina Lawyers Weekly 2023 Leader in the Law.  Laura and the other honorees were recognized for their achievements at a luncheon in Raleigh on April 20.

Leaders in the Law is an annual award by NC Lawyers Weekly that celebrates lawyers who are setting the standard for other lawyers. Honoree accomplishments include outstanding contributions to the practice of law in North Carolina, significant achievements through the practice of law, leadership in improving the justice system, acting as role models and mentors, and making essential contributions to North Carolina’s legal community and the community at large.

“We are proud of Laura’s contributions to improve the practice of law through her professionalism and leadership endeavors.  Lawyers Mutual is fortunate to have Laura as part of our claims team,” said Lawyers Mutual Director of Client Servies Julie Beavers.

At Lawyers Mutual, Laura’s focus areas include real estate, business litigation, estates and trusts, and bankruptcy. She is a Past-President of the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and former Membership Co-Chair for the Insurance Section of the NCBA. Laura is an active member of the Real Property Section of the NCBA, the Wake County Bar Association, and Wake Women Attorneys.

eCourts Expansion Announced for 2024

The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC) recently announced additional go-live plans for counties transitioning from paper files to Enterprise Justice (Odyssey), which currently serves Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Mecklenburg and Wake counties. Twelve northeastern counties comprising Track 3, as previously announced, will go live on February 5, and 10 counties comprising Track 4 (Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Orange, Person, Vance and Warren) will go live on April 29.
