Eric C. Michaux

Mr. Michaux, a partner with the Durham law firm of Michaux and Michaux, P.A.  joined the Lawyers Mutual Board in 1991.  Focusing his practice on litigation and general business matters, Mr. Michaux has a broad range of civic and professional experience.  He has served as a Judge Advocate, a Military Judge, and as an Assistant District Attorney.  For almost 30 years, Mr. Michaux was General Counsel to the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.  In addition to his service on the North Carolina Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism, Mr. Michaux has served as a member, and later as Chairman, of the North Carolina Board of Law Examiners.  He graduated from Boston University and from Duke University Law School, and has been a professor at both North Carolina Central University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  In addition to his work and participation on several corporate boards, including Union Insurance and Realty Company, Mr. Michaux has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of North Carolina Central University, the North Carolina Board of Transportation and the Triangle Transit Authority.
